Custom Packaging

Custom Packaging is shipping boxes, mailers, inserts, or tissue designed and printed for a specific brand, used to protect products and create a deliberate unboxing experience for the customer.

Topic: Fulfillment & Warehousing Entry FUL-059

Why it matters for ecommerce brands

Custom packaging can lift perceived value and repeat purchases, but it usually adds unit cost, minimum order quantities, and storage space at the 3PL. Box sizes should still be chosen with dimensional weight in mind.

Common questions

Will my 3PL charge extra for custom packaging?
Often yes. Many 3PLs charge for storing brand-supplied packaging and may add a per-order fee for extra steps such as inserts, tissue, or stickers, so confirm these fees before onboarding.
