Wang Wei
Wang Wei is a Chinese entrepreneur who founded SF Express in Shunde, Guangdong, in 1993 and built it into one of China's largest express delivery companies, with its own cargo airline.
What they did and why it matters
Wang built SF Express into China's premium express carrier, showing that a private courier could compete on speed and reliability by owning its planes and hubs. He started in 1993 with money borrowed from his father, carrying documents and parcels between Hong Kong and Shenzhen. SF launched SF Airlines in 2009, becoming the first private Chinese courier with its own aircraft, and it holds a large stake in Ezhou Huahu Airport, a dedicated cargo hub that opened in 2022. Brands selling in China or shipping samples from suppliers there often meet his model in time-definite, tracked parcel service.
