Voice Picking

Voice Picking is a picking method where workers wear a headset that gives spoken instructions, such as location and quantity, and confirm each step by speaking, leaving hands and eyes free.

Why it matters for ecommerce brands

Voice picking is common in case picking and cold storage where hands-free work helps. For small-item ecommerce picking, scanners or lights are more common because each unit still needs barcode confirmation.

Common questions

How does voice picking work?
The system reads out a location, the worker confirms it by speaking a check digit, then hears the quantity, picks it, and confirms. The warehouse system records each confirmation as it happens.
