Returns Consolidation
Returns consolidation is the practice of collecting many individual returns at a drop-off point or hub and shipping them together in bulk to the brand or its warehouse instead of one parcel at a time.
Why it matters for ecommerce brands
Consolidation lowers per-return shipping cost and packaging waste. The tradeoff is a slower physical return, so many brands refund at first scan rather than at receipt.
Common questions
- What are consolidated returns?
- Consolidated returns are individual customer returns combined into a larger shipment at a hub or drop-off location before going back to the brand. This reduces shipping cost per item but adds days before the item is received.
