Return to Sender

Return to Sender (RTS) is a carrier status for a package that could not be delivered, because of a bad address, refusal, or unclaimed pickup, and is being sent back to the shipper.

Topic: Parcel Shipping Entry PCL-229

Why it matters for ecommerce brands

Return-to-sender packages cost outbound postage plus often a return charge, and the customer still has no product. Track the RTS rate by cause to fix address capture, refusals, or fraud patterns.

Common questions
