Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) is freight shipping for loads too large for parcel but not large enough to fill a truck, where several shippers share trailer space.

Topic: Freight & Retail Compliance Entry FRT-156

Why it matters for ecommerce brands

Used for inbound replenishment, wholesale orders, and inter-warehouse transfers. Priced by freight class, weight, and lane.

Common questions

When should I ship LTL instead of parcel or full truckload?
LTL usually fits shipments from about 1 to 6 pallets, or roughly 150 to 15,000 pounds, that are too heavy for parcel but too small to fill a trailer. Above that range, compare volume LTL quotes against partial or full truckload.
