On-Time In-Full

On-Time In-Full (OTIF) is a retail supplier performance metric measuring the share of purchase orders or cases delivered within the required delivery window and in the full ordered quantity.

Topic: Freight & Retail Compliance Entry FRT-179

Why it matters for ecommerce brands

Major US retailers track OTIF and may fine suppliers that fall below their targets, sometimes as a percentage of the cost of noncompliant goods. Program targets and penalties change, so check each retailer's current supplier requirements.

Formula and example

OTIF % = (orders on time AND in full) ÷ total orders × 100

Example: 188 of 200 POs on time and complete = 94% OTIF.

Common questions

How is OTIF calculated?
OTIF is the number of orders or cases that arrived both within the delivery window and with the full ordered quantity, divided by the total. Each retailer defines the window and whether it measures by order, line, or case.
