Robotic Piece Picking

Robotic piece picking is the use of a robotic arm with vision software and a suction or finger gripper to pick individual items from bins or totes, usually at a goods-to-person station.

Topic: Systems & Automation Entry SYS-237

Why it matters for ecommerce brands

It targets each picking, the most labor-heavy fulfillment task, but reliability varies by product shape, packaging, and surface. Testing your actual SKUs is the best way to judge fit.

Common questions

Can robots pick any product in a warehouse?
Not yet. Robotic arms handle many boxed and bagged items well, but soft, shiny, transparent, very small, or irregular items can still be hard to grasp reliably. Most deployments keep people on hand for exceptions.
