Parcel Select

Parcel Select is a USPS destination-entry parcel service in which shippers or consolidators drop presorted packages at USPS facilities near the recipient in exchange for lower postage.

Topic: Parcel Shipping Entry PCL-190

Why it matters for ecommerce brands

Brands rarely buy it directly. It usually reaches them through a consolidator or 3PL that injects volume into USPS, which can lower the cost of lightweight residential parcels but may add transit time.

Common questions

What is USPS Parcel Select used for?
Parcel Select is used by high-volume shippers and consolidators to enter packages deep in the USPS network, close to the destination. USPS discounts the postage because it handles the package for a shorter distance.
