First Expired, First Out
First expired, first out (FEFO) is a stock rotation rule in which the units with the earliest expiration date ship first, regardless of when they were received.
Why it matters for ecommerce brands
Essential for food, beverage, supplements, and beauty products. Amazon requires minimum remaining shelf life for dated products.
Common questions
- What is the difference between FIFO and FEFO?
- FIFO ships the units received first, while FEFO ships the units that expire first. For dated products they usually match, but FEFO is safer when inbound lots arrive with different remaining shelf lives.
