Cargo Ready Date

Cargo Ready Date (CRD) is the date a supplier confirms goods will be produced, packed, and available for pickup or delivery to the origin port or warehouse.

Topic: Import & Customs Entry IMP-028

Why it matters for ecommerce brands

Forwarders book vessel space and plan ISF around the cargo ready date. A slipping CRD can cause missed sailings and rolled bookings, so track it weekly on every purchase order.

Common questions

What is the difference between cargo ready date and ship date?
The cargo ready date is when goods are available at origin. The ship date, or estimated time of departure, is when the vessel or flight actually leaves, which can be days or weeks later depending on bookings and transit to the port.
